screen printer & wire artist
Kate Westcott creates contemporary and striking designs from her original drawings which she uses in her screen printing and wire work. In screen printing the images are transferred by hand onto screens for printing on linen and handmade paper. The printed linen is made up into tablecloths, napkins, runners and more; all are heat-cured making the items washable. In her wirework, she forms 2 and 3D pieces often using the wire to recreate designs she has used for her printing. Some of the wire works are mounted on wooden blocks to stand alone and others are hung on the wall, creating beautiful shadows in sunlight.
