BS9 Arts Trail 2021

We are currently planning to hold the BS9 Arts Trail next summer, as a venue based trail that will conform to Covid Guidance for Public Events.

We shall circulate more up to date information, probably in October/ November.

In the meantime, we wish all our artists and patrons a healthy and productive year, and look forward to seeing you again at the next BS9 Arts Trail.

All the very best, BS9 Arts

Oils & pastels

Kathy vibrant paintings are mainly in oil. She likes to capture a sense of light and the movement of nature in her artwork, inspired by the wild Atlantic Coastline of Western Ireland and the ever changing light over the barren rocky landscape of the Burren and Connemara.

She also loves sketching all aspects of trees from close up studies of the patterns in the bark of a trunk or quiet sun dappled corners to the panoramic glory of autumn colours at Westonbirt.

Kathy works from detailed sketches done on location most often in charcoal. When she starts to sketch a landscape scene, more often than not it's the lone quirky tree that first catches her eye and draws her to the spot…. the rest evolves from that first moment!

More recently she has enjoyed painting several portrait commissions. Kathy was the artist in residence at the Berkeley Square Hotel, Clifton for two years.  Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions around Bristol and the south west. Besides the UK and Ireland, her paintings have been sold in several countries including Australia, USA, Hungary and Spain.
