Mina began painting a decade ago, as a way of escaping from the stresses of a difficult job. Since retiring, with more time available, she has developed and extended her approach, becoming more abstract by exploring through colour and texture.

She uses a variety of media, mainly acrylics or soft pastel, often adding ink and collaged materials, including gold or bronze leaf, sometimes imposing more order to a piece of work, or sometimes removing it. Colour, texture and movement are always present reflecting Mina’s view that life should never be dull!
