Trinity College is set in nearly 10 acres of beautiful grounds and woodland. The main building, Stoke House, is a grade II* listed building and dates back to 1669. There have been many later additions to the property, one of which being the high ceilinged, light and airy dining room, which is used as an exhibition space for the BS9 Arts Trail.

You can visit this beautiful venue, have tea, coffee and cake in the Tyndale Room, just off reception in the main Stoke House building, and then make your way downstairs to the dining room to wander around the 16 artists and creators who will be delighted to show you their work.

There is level access to the exhibition space, just to the right of the main building. Just follow the signs. There is plenty of free parking, in front of Stoke House and to the left of the building, along the drive, in the gravel car park.

Redmaids High Art Exhibition 2023

A unique opportunity to see Bristol’s best, upcoming creative talent as the renowned Art department of the country’s oldest existing girls’ school opens its doors to showcase the exceptional work of their students. 40 emerging artists exhibit their GCSE, A-Level and IB work in a collection of diverse and engaging pieces, showcasing drawing, painting, print-making, sculpture and photography. The standard and quality rivals the best in Bristol. The exhibition promises to challenge your perception of creative arts. Be astounded by the photorealistic portraiture and thought-provoking explorations of cultural and political issues expressed through both fine and applied arts.
“The creativity, standard and exceptional quality of the work is truly breath-taking” Beth Sims, Head of Art. “The development of ideas and attention to detail is extraordinarily mature, way beyond what one might expect of such young people.”

Venue 12.jpg

My studio is easy to find: Brean Down Avenue runs parallel to Northumbria Drive and our end of it is a short walk from the Westbury Park Waitrose where there’s a No 2 bus stop. Cross over the zebra crossing past Waitrose towards the Henleaze Road shops, go down the footpath between Nos 18 and 20 Northumbria Drive, and turn left at the bottom until you find our privet hedge, holly tree and a BS9 Arts banner on the gate. If you’re coming by bike or car, take Fallodon Way off Henleaze Road and take the first right. Parking is usually available. Access is easy up the side of the house but there is a step up into the studio itself. Other BS9 Arts venues within a 10 minute walk: Badminton School; 3, Henleaze Road; 8, Northumbria Drive;  9, Lawrence Grove; Bradbury Hall in Waterford Road, part of Trinity-Henleaze URC (opposite the Esso Garage/Tesco down Henleaze Road).

Our wildlife garden should look at its best during the weekend with a variety of wildlife flowers in the mini-meadow which was once a conventional lawn. I very much look forward to welcoming you.
